| Service(s) description | Support Life Foundation has developed a model of action which includes recruiting students from local colleges and universities, and have them pass through the Oakland Unified School District’s vetting procedure in order to serve as teaching assistants and tutors. They will operate strictly within the physical space of the classroom under a teaching instructor’s direction and supervision during classroom hours. The school will have its program internally managed by its students’ counselors, who will allocate and prepare the schedule of student volunteers to the said targeted students. |
| Program impact | Support Life Foundation's Project Educate fosters an environment which both uplifts struggling youth who will now be provided with the tools to succeed in their academic careers, and provides vital work experience for student volunteers who are to be the future of the city of Oakland, as both the volunteer and beneficiary will be sources of future economic benefit. Furthermore, the project investment of youth, who will be provided with alternative, legal outlets to generating their own sources of revenue when they enter the workforce due to their academic success, and will improve the quality of life in neighborhoods due to the decline of criminal activity. |
