Program DescriptionReel Stories After School Program introduces young women and gender non-conforming youth to media literacy and filmmaking. The objective of the 10-week program is that youth learn how to view current media critically and thoughtfully and to create media that is reflective to their unique point of view and experience. For the after school program Reel Stories provides the media literacy and filmmaking curriculum, the equipment for the students to write, shoot and edit their own short film. Reel Stories provides a qualified Media Teacher and classroom assistant. The classroom assistant is normally a member of the school community that is designated to help with the program and Reel Stories pays directly for their time.
