Organization Description
Service(s) description | Utilizing trained volunteers led by Children Rising staff, we work closely with school teachers and principals to provide in-school literacy tutoring, math tutoring, and library services to primary grade school students during the school year. We also provide in-school business education workshops for high school students during the school year, then match these students with work-based learning opportunities (paid internships) and mentors during the summer. |
Program impact | Our literacy tutoring program (Succeeding by Reading) and our math tutoring program (Path2Math) are designed to achieve grade-level competency for program participants, with 70% of the participants achieving 2+ grade-level gains in both disciplines by the end of the academic year. Our work-based learning program (CareerBridge) places 100% of eligible students into a paid summer internship program. One hundred percent of high school students participating in the CareerBridge program complete high school. |
