Organization Description

Service(s) descriptionOur after school programs provide safe and enriching after school opportunities to young people where they can learn to be productive, build positive adult and peer relationships, and participate in meaningful academic, enrichment activities and physical fitness activities. Other BACR services: We offer AmeriCorps and VISTA national service, youth leadership, mental health counseling, alcohol/drug and tobacco services, and healthy communities programs.
Program impactOur ASPs are designed and staffed to be accessible to and effective for children and youth who are struggling due to poverty, academic and social-emotional challenges, and other life circumstances. Further, we use all activities to promote the development of communication, problem solving, peaceful conflict resolution, leadership, and other pro-social skills. We partner with other community organizations that help to round out the array of needed services identified by the schools, young people, and families and, in this way, we ensure access and equity of opportunity for the communities we serve.

Community programs are organized into categories known as Community School Elements. All community programs associated with Bay Area Community Resources are listed below and each program may be provided at 1 or more schools. You can use the 'Show Details' buttons to learn more about each program.
