Some of our Activities Include— Learning new games. Doing Improvisation and Character Studies Using imagination to create more meaningful characters Blocking the play (entrances, exits, all the movement actors do in a play) |
Program impact | Students learn how to memorize their parts and acting movement, improving coordination and motor skills. We teach children how to think creatively using their imagination. This improves their ability to create solutions to problems and is an invaluable skill for any direction they wish to go in. With each play, we help improve students’ vocabulary and introduce new ways of communicating. Through the art of movement, acting, and interpretation, students learn how to communicate in a variety of unique ways. Confident and articulate children find it easier to make friends, accept new challenges and explore new directions. The PPAS drama class for children in grades 3rd-5th is designed to help each child become comfortable expressing themselves. Our class teaches empathy by helping children understand their character and also to understand the events in the story of the play. In a fun-filled atmosphere, our classes aim to give young people ongoing confidence, self-esteem, and skills in verbal communication. |
