Program Description | One class is a cooking class is offered to K- 5 students once a week. The students are divided into two groups K-2 and 3-5. Each group spends 45 minutes learning about preparing eating and cleaning up a healthy and delicious recipe. The second class is Origami, this class is offered to 1st - 5th grade students. Students spend about 90 minutes learning about origami and folding origami forms. Younger and less advanced students work with support from the teacher or other students to master basic techniques and begin to develop skills to work independently without support from more advanced students or teachers. More advanced students work independently either on a project of their choice or projects that are developed by the teacher. Students fold a range of projects from very basic to extremely complex units. The expectation is that every student will improve their skills and be engaged. |
