Program DescriptionThe City of Oakland is funding HIFY's Leadership in Diversity queer support program. Our staff will run after-school supportive and empowerment groups at four OUSD high schools in order to aid in building a safe and inclusive school environment. The groups will include leadership training and student-led organizing projects, enrichment and support activity, queer history explorations and other cultural programming, and resilience-building via safe community creation.
