Program Description | Partnerships for Trauma Recovery (PTR) provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed psychosocial care for students at OIHS who have either directly experienced—or whose family members have experienced—interpersonal trauma and human rights abuses in their countries of origin. PTR’s Associate Clinical Social Worker and African Communities Liaisons work with the OIHS Community School Program Manager, alongside the Coordination of Services Team (COST), to identify students' needs and offer support groups to those students, as well as individual therapy if they express an interest and could benefit from such support. PTR staff work closely with the COST team to ensure students are receiving sufficient support and may also help with case management, home visits, and family meetings and workshops as needed. PTR staff have unique international backgrounds and language skills that allow them to offer culturally responsive and linguistically accessible psychosocial care to the OIHS student community. |
