Program Description | Services are based on an understanding of the vulnerabilities or triggers of trauma survivors to avoid the re-traumatization and exacerbation that traditional service delivery approaches may cause and to make services more supportive. Services in a public school setting that promotes students’ well-being, increases self-esteem and builds the self-confidence that leads to academic success. FFYC believes that youth’s strengths can be supported and they can overcome symptoms. Two mental health therapists collaborate with the OUSD staff to provide a safe, nurturing, strength-based environment that engages students and provides family support. The use of evidence-based interventions transform student behavior, increases motivation, minimizes school absences and accelerates academic performance. |
